One of Forbes' top players, Demetrius Moore, recently committed to Louisiana Tech.
"Demetrius was getting a lot of attention," explained Coach Forbes. "He was hearing Missouri Valley, WAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt, and Big 12 teams."
"The staff at Tech did a great job," added Coach Forbes. "They got so far ahead on Demetrius. THey were able to get him in for a visit and he committed. Coach (Tech Assistant Coach Isaac Brown) Brown and Coach (Head Coach Mike White) White did a great job. I had a great feeling about Tech and Demetrius."
Forbes was an assistant at Tech under Keith Richard. Louisiana Tech Assistant Coach Isaac Brown had been an assisntat at Northwest Florida a few years ago, so there was a familiarity on both sides.
"Demetrius is 6'8" and 220 pounds," described Forbes. "He put on 9 or 10 pounds of muscle this year. He is very athletic and aggressive. He is a really good rebounder. He has the potential to be a very good player in the WAC. He just keeps getting better."
Moore is the first commitment for Louisiana Tech's 2012 Class.
