Checking on Tech's Newest Commit

Northwest Florida Head Coach Steve Forbes checkied in with to talk about Louisiana Tech Hoops Commit Demetrius Moore.

Former Louisiana Tech and Tennessee Assistant Steve Forbes is now the Head Coach at Northwest Florida.

One of Forbes' top players, Demetrius Moore, recently committed to Louisiana Tech.

"Demetrius was getting a lot of attention," explained Coach Forbes. "He was hearing Missouri Valley, WAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt, and Big 12 teams."

"The staff at Tech did a great job," added Coach Forbes. "They got so far ahead on Demetrius. THey were able to get him in for a visit and he committed. Coach (Tech Assistant Coach Isaac Brown) Brown and Coach (Head Coach Mike White) White did a great job. I had a great feeling about Tech and Demetrius."

Forbes was an assistant at Tech under Keith Richard. Louisiana Tech Assistant Coach Isaac Brown had been an assisntat at Northwest Florida a few years ago, so there was a familiarity on both sides.

"Demetrius is 6'8" and 220 pounds," described Forbes. "He put on 9 or 10 pounds of muscle this year. He is very athletic and aggressive. He is a really good rebounder. He has the potential to be a very good player in the WAC. He just keeps getting better."

Moore is the first commitment for Louisiana Tech's 2012 Class.
