Brown Comes off the Edge

With Matt Broha and Christian Lacey graduating, Louisiana Tech is looking for immediate help at defensive end. Anthony Brown has the speed to make a big difference for the Bulldogs. Brown is the 7th commitment for Louisiana Tech.

Louisiana Tech has received a commitment from Anthony Brown, a 6'3" 240-pound defensive end from Northeast Mississippi Junior College.

Brown had 156 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss, in his two seasons at Northeast. He was named to the MACJC All-North Division second team as a sophomore.

"I played wide reciver and tight end in high school," said Brown, a native of Cairo, GA. "When I got to junior college, they gave me a chance to play defense."

"I played linebacker last year," added Brown, who had 100 tackles as a freshman linebacker. " I moved to defensive end this season." Brown used his speed to make 10 tackles for loss from his defensive end spot.

Brown said he had 10 offers. "I have offers from Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss, ULL, South Alabama, Troy, MTSU, Memphis, and a few others," he said. "I visited Tech, MTSU, Troy, South Alabama, and I'm going to Memphis later today."

"I chose Louisiana Tech," Brown went on, "because of Coach Eggen. "He's going to get me to the next level." With his wide receiver speed and a 155 pound frame, Brown certainly has the tools to go a long way.

Anthony Brown is a December graduate and will participate in spring football at Louisiana Tech.
