Men's Basketball: Louisiana Tech forward among 10 players from Louisiana, Arkansas honored; one of six WAC players to gain NABC All-District honors.

Ruston — Louisiana Tech sophomore forward Kyle Gibson, the seventh-leading scorer in the Western Athletic Conference, has been voted to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 8 Team.

Gibson was among the second-team selections. Bo McCalebb of New Orleans headed the first team, which also included Marcus Thornton of LSU, David Gomez of Tulane, Chris Davis of Southern, and Tyrone Hamilton of Centenary.

Joining Gibson on the second team were LSU's Anthony Randolph, Tony Hooper of Louisiana-Monroe, Northwestern State's Trey Gilder, and Adrian Banks of Arkansas State.

Gibson leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 16.1 points per game and rebounding with 5.1 boards per game. The 6'4" Los Angeles native is playing out of position as a power forward while shooting guard is his more natural position.

Gibson was one of only six Western Athletic Conference players to earn NABC All-District honors. Justin Hawkins of New Mexico State, Jaycee Carroll of Utah State, Kevin Bell of Fresno State, Reggie Larry of Boise State, and Marcelus Kemp of Nevada all made their respective All District teams.

NABC members voted 150 players from around the nation to the all-district teams and made them candidates for the State Farm Division I All-America Team announced during the Final Four.
