Former Indiana Players Find Homes

Joey Shaw and Xavier Keeling are two junior college players that have connections to Kerry Rupp from their time at the University of Indiana. Since Rupp left Indiana for UAB along with Head Coach Mike Davis, Shaw and Keeling have ended up at different junior colleges.

Joey Shaw played for the College of Southern Idaho and Xavier Keeling played for Wallace State in Alabama. Both teams are ranked in the top three of the final NJCAA poll and have a combined record of 56-1.

Keeling announced last week that he is heading to Creighton, while Shaw announced this week that he will be attending Nevada. Coach Rupp just finished his first year as Head Coach at Louisiana Tech and will be able to see plenty of Shaw and WAC rival Nevada over the next two years.

It is not known if Louisiana Tech will sign any players in the Spring Quarter. The Bulldogs had one senior on their roster this season and they should also be able to use their 13th scholarship that the NCAA had taken away due to APR violations by the previous staff.

Coach Rupp signed two freshmen in the fall, Josh Brown and Holton Hunsaker. Hunsaker, the son of Utah Valley State Head Coach Dick Hunsaker, will spend two years on his LDS church mission before joining the Bulldogs.
