Stanton and Crawford Headed to Junior College

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech head coach Derek Dooley announced Friday four roster moves which will affect the Bulldogs depth chart heading into fall practice.

Dooley announced that red-shirt freshman linebacker Jay Dudley would be ineligible to play this season due to academic reasons.

"We're obviously disappointed, and no one is more upset about the situation than Jay," Dooley said. "Hopefully this will be a great lesson to him and to all freshmen on the importance of academics."

Dooley also noted that true freshman defensive back Jimmie Crawford and true freshman running back Ketaraus Stanton would be placed in junior colleges after the duo were unable to meet all the NCAA's academic qualifications.

"We knew when we signed both Jimmie and Ketaraus that they were long shots to qualify," Dooley said. "Placing them in a junior college will allow them to focus on improving their academics while gaining valuable playing experience."

Stanton will be playing at Cisco Junior College while Crawford will enroll at Trinity Valley Junior College.

Dooley announced that junior linebacker Zach Schreiber has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

"Zach has been battling some personal issues that we have been trying to help him resolve," Dooley said. "Unfortunately, it's led to conduct that is not representative of the values that have become the foundation of our program."
