Tech Football Adds One, Loses One

Louisiana Tech added Zach Booker from Blinn College to their roster on Friday. Meanwhile, Scott Gonzalez headed back to Blinn.

According to Blinn Offensive Coordinator Lloyd Spotted Wolf, Tech is getting a player in Zach Booker. "Zach is big, strong, anf fast," explained Coach Spotted Wolf. "He is one of the best young men that I have ever been around. He is very mature and he has a great work ethic."

Various internet reports listed Booker as a commimtent to SDSU and UNLV at different times this year. Coach Spotted Wolf said that he was a late qualifier, but you can expect big things from Booker.

"He actually went to Foothill College for track and then transferred back to Blinn," said Coach Spotted Wolf. "I expect him to open eyes and turn heads wherever he is. I think he will experience some of the same early success that Philip Beck had last season."

Beck came to Tech from Blinn last season and immediatly made his name known as a receiver and a punt returner. Booker has the speed (4.37) to be a big factor as well.

Scott Gonzalez, who signed with Blinn in February, was a late signee for Louisiana Tech. The big offensive lineman from Mayde Creek did not qualify and is back at Blinn College. Today was his first practice at Blinn.
