Kendrick James Update

Louisiana has several highly ranked linebackers in the 2009 class.

Kendrick James just finished fall camp with his teammates from O.P. Walker. After spending a lot of time on football during the summer, the actual season might seem like a slow time for James.

"I haven't made it to a lot of schools this summer," explained James. "We did a lot of 7 on 7. I did make it to camp at Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech."

James, who played outside linebacker last season, is moving to middle linebacker for his senior campaign. He talked about the camps he went to and what schools are showing him the most interest.

"I have been to Mississippi State before," said James. "I went there for junior day. It was good to go back.

James holds offers from Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, South Alabama, UNC, and Minnesota. James said Minnesota was his first offer and he is still waiting on an offer from USM.

"I have a good feeling that it is coming," James said about the USM offer. "I liked their camp, it was good competition and they have a nice campus. Coach (Frank) Wilson showed us around, he is from New Orleans."

Louisiana Tech also has a New Orleans native on staff. "Coach (Terry) Joseph and I have a good relationship," mentioned James. "He grew up right down the street from where I live.

Tech has also offered two other players from O.P. Walker. Tyrone Duplessis and Torell Miller also boast offers from the Bulldogs. "Tyrone and I talk a lot about playing together in college," added James.

Kendrick James is one of the top linebackers in a class that is full of good prospects. Check back during the season as we will have updates on Kendrick and his teammates.
