Stevens has the speed to play anywhere on the field. He won the TAPPS state 100 meter title and also anchored the relay team. He runs the 40 yard dash in 4.4 seconds. "The 100 meters is easier for me to run," explained Stevens. "I start slow and build up speed. The 100 meter does help me work on my start in the 40." Stevens runs the 100 meter in 10.8 seconds.
Stevens said he gets handwritten letters from Louisiana Tech and he has visited Rice, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and Grambling. He was not aware that Louisiana Tech was another five miles down the road from Grambling. Stevens did know that former Louisiana Tech star Ryan Moats played at Bishop Lynch. "Yeah, he has been back to school a couple of times," Stevens said about the Philadelphia Eagles running back.
Stevens said his favorite at the moment is Rice, but he is anxious to get his senior season underway. Bishop Lynch opens with Jesuit next weekend.
