Keagle Named to Ray Guy Watch List

Sept. 16, 2008 RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech senior punter Chris Keagle is one of 47 collegiate players named to the watch list for the 2008 Ray Guy Award released by the Greater Augusta Sports Council Tuesday.

The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early-November. The national voting body will then vote for the top three finalists, and ultimately the winner.

The top three finalists will be announced in late-November, and the winner of the Ray Guy Award, which is affiliated with the National College Football Awards Association, will be presented live on ESPN during the ESPNU-Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 11, 2008.

Keagle is one of three punters from Western Athletic Conference schools joining Idaho's T.J. Conley and Utah State's Peter Caldwell. He is also one of only two punters from Louisiana-based colleges on the list.

The Baton Rouge, La., native is averaging 41.9 yards per punt through the first two games of the season while downing seven of his 14 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Keagle earned first team all-Western Athletic Conference honors last year.
