Ayala actually played quarterback as a sophomore. He is 6'5 and 260 pounds now and sees most of his time at defensive tackle and offensive tackle. "It's amazing how he moves, being so big," added Coach Coey. "He is also a good student. He is a good kid and he works hard."
Ayala has offers from Louisiana Tech and Colorado State. He is also getting interest from Houston, UTEP, and Texas Tech. He teams with Texas A&M commitment Kirby Ennis to help form a very big and mobile defensive line.
Colorado State likes Ayala as an offensive tackle because of his good footwork. It remains to be seen in what position he finds himself in college, but he most certainly can help at a few of them.
