Cornelius Lucas Has Offers

Cornelius Lucas just keeps growing, and his coach says his game is only going to get better.

Edna Karr Head Coach Jabbar Juluke says that Cornelius Lucas is not finished growing into a big time offensive tackle. "He just turned 17 in July and he is up to 6'8" and 280 pounds. His mom is 6'5" and he just started playing football last year," said Coach Juluke. "His best football is ahead of him and he is very coachable."

Lucas is already qualified with a 3.5 GPA and a 20 on the ACT. He has offers from Louisiana Tech, Tulane, and ULL. Southern Miss is also talking to Lucas. He is on the verge of really breaking out. "They are eventually going to knock down the door," added Coach Juluke.

While he is good in both pass protection and run blocking, Coach Juluke says Lucas is a little ahead in pass protection right now. With his great reach, it's easy to see why defenders have a hard time getting by him. "He picks up on things real well," mentioned Coach Juluke.

Edna Karr runs the same offense as Vanderbilt. Juluke recently sent film on Lucas to the Commodore coaching staff. Whether he stays in state or not, someone is going to get a steal of a tackle.
