Dutchtown Duo Reunited

Kelvin York and Eddie Lacy are one of the top running back duos in Louisiana.

Kelvin York and Eddie Lacy can play on the field at the same time, or they can take turns playing halfback. Either way, they are a dangerous combination for Dutchtown Coach Benny Saia.

"Last year they alternated each series," explained Saia. "This year, they were going to alternate when we were in the I-formation, but Kelvin was going to play fullack when we went to the wing."

Lacy missed some time early in the season, allowing york to carry the full load. "Kelvin played real well," said Saia. "He averaged 120 yards a game."

York has interest from Mississippi State, USM, Northwestern State, McNeese, ULL, Grambling, and Southern. He is also getting interest from Louisiana Tech. "They want him to come up for a game," said Saia.

Saia's son Kevin is a freshman for the Bulldogs. "Kevin loves it at Tech," said Benny Saia. "It was an adjustment for him when Coach Perot got sick, because that was his position coach and the coach that recruited him."

Louisiana Tech Offensive Line Coach is sitting out the 2008 season after undergoing heart surgery. Veteran coach Art Kehoe has filled in while Perot is out.

Lacy is still weighing several offers. Coach Saia said both Lacy and York have to work on ther grades. "Both guys can make it," said their coach. "Eddie needs a test score and Kelvin needs both."

Lacy is back in action now and looks to build on his 63 yard performance last week. The Dutchtown Duo is back together again.
