Tech Keeps Commit Train Rolling

Sharman Brown, from Timberview High School in Mansfield, Texas, is the newest recruit to commit to Louisiana Tech.

Terry Cron, Head Coach at Timberview, said Sharman Brown will be a player at the next level. "Sharman is a really good receiver for us," explained Cron. "He has been interested in Louisiana Tech since last year. He visited last weekend. He will be a good one."

Although Timberview is off to a rough start this year, Brown has been a huge part of their success. "We just lost in OT," said Coach Cron. "We feel like we should be 6-1 instead of 3-4. Sharman has had a couple of games where he caught for nearly 200 yards."

Last season, Timberview made it to the third round of the playoffs. "We lost in Texas Stadium to Lewisville-Hebron, 35-28. Sharman had some really big catches for us in that game."

Brown made big plays on a big stage last year and college coaches took notice. Brown has offers from Wisconson, Colorado State, and New Mexico.

"He is a great athlete," added Cron. "He is a great route runner and he runs well after the catch. He is 6'1" 190 and strong. He runs in the 200 for our All-District track team."

Louisiana Tech is off to a great start in recruiting. Tech is hitting the Dallas-Fort Worth and New Orleans areas hard and it paid off this week with commitments from two big time offensive playmakers in Sharman Brown and Lyle Fitte.
