RUSTON-- Louisiana Tech place kicker Brad Oestriecher has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Idaho this past weekend.
Oestriecher connected on a career-high four field goals in the Bulldogs 46-14 win over Idaho
. Oestriecher made field goals of 21, 32, 24 and 39 yards and was just wide right on a fifth one from 50 yards. He also hit four extra points to score a career-high 16 points in the victory.
This is Oestriecher's second award of the season. He was named WAC Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in Tech's season opening 22-14 win against Mississippi State
on August 30 where he was three-for-three on field goal attempts connecting from 48, 28 and 50 yards.
Southern University quarterback Bryant Lee was named the LSWA Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and LSU's Curtis Taylor
was named Defensive Player of the Week.
