Cano Commits

Vincent Cano becomes the twelfth member of Louisiana Tech's 2009 class.

"I committed to Louisiana Tech," said Vincent Cano. "I talked it over with my dad. We felt like it was a good opportunity and it was close enough to home without being too close."

Cano had offers from ULL and Rice along with Tech. The offensive guard is the second offensive lineman to commit to Head Coach Derek Dooley. Matt Sheppard, from down the road in Marshall, committed at the last home game. Cano and Sheppard know each other well as their teams battle each year.

Doak Raulston, Sharman Brown, and Matt  Nelson were also in attendance. Raulston said he has recently picked up an offer from Houston. Both Raulston and Brown said they will be back next week for official visits. Others expected to visit next week include Kendrick James, Tyrone Duplessis, and Adam Ayala.

Nathan Quick also made the trip. Quick is on the verge of getting offers from schools like Tech, ULL, and Tulane. The 6'5" tackle is rising up recruiting boards. Another player on the move is Fagan Davis. The big lineman from St. Helena Central made it to the game. Davis said he is getting interest from Tech, Tulane, ULM, and LSU.
