C.J. Broades commits to Tech

Louisiana Tech received their 13th commitment for the 2009 class yesterday.

C.J. Broades, from Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, committed to Louisiana Tech this week.

Pleasant Grove Head Coach Kevin Davis said Tech is getting a good one in Broades. "He commited to Louisiana Tech," said Davis. "He had interest from North Texas and Louisiana-Monroe."

While Broades played both ways in high school, Davis says he will play safety in college. The 6'1" 195 pound athlete had 123 tackles and four interceptions as a senior. "He made All- District at both positions last year," explained Davis. "He made third team All-State as a safety." All-District teams have not been named for 2008 yet.

Broades had 24 catches for 312 yards and three touchdowns on offense. Pleasant Grove lost to Celina last week in the playoffs.
