Offers come rolling in for Hubert

Louisiana Tech is in search of speed in the 2009 class, and speed is one thing that you can never have enough.

Once John Hubert got qualified, the offers started rolling in. Wyoming, UNT, Houston, Louisiana Tech, and Idaho have all offered a scholarship, according to Hubert.

The Waco Midway star had over 2,000 yards and over 30 touchdowns this year. His blinding speed and quickness make him the type of player college coaches want.

Louisiana Tech Head Coach Derek Dooley decided he wants Hubert in Ruston. Dooley had an in home visit with Hubert this week. "He came by Tuesday," said Hubert. "I was real excited. We are on our way to Ruston right now."

Hubert is one of 13 offical visitors this weekend to Tech. Hubert would join Lyle Fitte, D.J. Morrow, and Tyrone Duplessis as running backs in the 2009 class. Both Hubert and Fitte have the ability to line up in the slot and do some special things. Those kind of weapons would allow the Bulldog offense to keep pace in the WAC.

Hubert says he has been talking to Tech all year. "Coach Russell first came by in the spring," explained Hubert. He came back with an offer after Christmas."

Hubert visits Tech this weekend, Kansas State next weekend, UNT on the 23rd, and Houston on the 30th. "Kansas State wants me to come up on the 16th," added Hubert. "They said they should have an offer for me then."
