Tech in Good Shape With Porter

Things have been a little hectic for the Porter family.

You would think things would settle down for Anita Porter. After Rufus Porter returned an interception for a 98 yard touchdown to lead Destrehan to the State Championship, the phone was ringing off the hook.

It still is. "It has been very busy," said Mrs. Porter. "Between work and all the visits, there isn't much time."

"We visit Tulsa this weekend," added Mrs. Porter. "We go to SMU on the 23rd. We don't have a visit set up for the 30th but we may go to Northern Illinois or to Southern."

Rufus Porter isn't in a hurry to make a decision. "We are going to take all the trips," said his mom. "Then make a decision."

So where does Louisiana Tech stand in all of this? "The visit went well," added Mrs. Porter. We were very impressed."

Both Rufus Porter and Chad Boyd seemed to have a good time on their visit. Boyd said he was hanging out with Porter on Saturday and having a blast. Both players are from New Orleans and have interest from some of the same schools. Boyd has also received a lot of interest from Northern Illinois and Tulsa.
