Rolle With It

Kenny Cooper always seemed to play better when Magnum Rolle was in the game. Rolle seems to play better when he is the main big man in the game for the Bulldogs.

Louisiana Tech is still trying to figure things out since Cooper was suspended. A few things are certain, Magnum Rolle is scoring more and the team is playing with a lot more energy. Rolle was all over the court in the home win against Idaho. He did all the little things like changing shots, deflecting passes, and cleaning up around the rim. Saturday at Boise, Rolle hit all eleven of his shots and finished with 23 points. Tech led most of the second half, but was unable to hold on. Boise won 58 to 53 after Tech was unable to score late.

The core of the team will be back next year and help is on the way. Darius Redding and Kadeem Coleby will add big time athleticism and depth to the team. The Bulldogs still have a chance to put things together and make a run in this years tournament. Something has to click and the WAC tournament is a good place to get it going.

Jamel Guyton, Olu Ashaolu, Kyle Gibson, and Magnum Rolle all need to play together and have good games for the team to win. Gibson is the focus of the opposing team's defense, so the other three guys really need to pick up the slack. Losing to Fresno and Boise on the most recent road trip isn't easy to swallow, but this team really has a run in them. They really need to take care of business at home against Hawaii and San Jose next weekend.
