Collin Ellis Profile
Collin Ellis made All-State last year as a running back and a linebacker last year. "He was a linebacker," said his father, Greg Ellis. "He played a little tight end. He moved over to running back and ended up making All-District on both sides."
"He almost 6'2"," added Mr. Ellis. "Call it 6'1 3/4" 217. He;s grown two inches since the season ended."
Collin is already getting heavy interest. "He was offered by Southeastern yesterday," mentioned Mr. Ellis. "We feel Northwestern (Big 10) is close to offering. Coach Bates said Pat Fitzgerald really likes him."
Two Division One schools from Louisiana have also been to see Ellis. "Coach Perot from Tech was here last week," Mr. Ellis explained. "Coach Crowton is coming by today. LSU likes him as a safety. He had 6 interceptions last year as an outside linebacker. He has great hands and ball skills."
Oklahoma State calls a lot and he is also getting interest from Colorado and Ole Miss. At one junior camp, Ellis was clocked at 4.5 in the 40 and had a 35" verticle. Ellis wants to major in engineering. He doesn't know much about Northwestern, but he is interested in visiting the school. "It's a great school, we would like to go see it," added his Dad.
