Byran Jones Update

Byran Jones has made the rounds this summer and picked up some new offers along the way.

Take a 28 mile drive up Highway 167 from Ruston and you will reach Lillie, LA. Lillie may be most famous for food, because you can turn there on Hwy 15 and get to a great seafood buffet in Spearsville.

Not for long. Lillie native Byran Jones suits up on Fridays for the Junction City (AR) Dragons. Jones is one of the top defensive linemen in the South.

Junction City Defensive Line Coach Brad Smith said schools have been calling about Jones all summer. "He camped at Arkansas," said Coach Smith. "He camped at Maryland, he has family up there. LSU invited him to their camp, but he can't make it because he's still in Maryland."

Jones has a few new offers. "Oklahoma offered a while back," said Coach Smith. "Baylor, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, basically anyone who has looked at him."

Junction City starts practice on July 31st and opens their 2009 season with Fountain Lake.
