Tanner Smith from Nolan Catholic in Fort Worth said he is looking for a good school and a good football team. He has an offer from Louisiana Tech and another could be on the way from Tulsa.

"I want to make my decision as soon as possible," said the tight end, who plans to attend Tech's home opener against Nicholls State.

So will he commit while he is in town? "I guess," answered Smith. "If everything goes well."

Smith is 6'4" 235 and describes himself as a true, blocking tight end that can go out for a pass. He camped at Tech, SMU, TCU, Rice, and Tulsa.

What stand out about Louisiana Tech? "Coach Joseph said they were really interested and they wanted to offer a scholarship," explained Smith. "I went over and saw the campus. I really like all the new facilities."

Jacolby Hardnett is not familiar with Louisiana Tech's campus, but he is very familiar with the Bulldog's September 5th opponent. Hardnett, from Opelika, attended senior camp at nearby Auburn.

"Auburn is kind of the favorite," said Hardnett. "I just grew up so close to the school and I've been there so many times."

Hardnett has an offer from Louisiana Tech and he says Auburn and Clemson might be close. He is also hearing from Nebraska, Tennessee, Kentucky, N.C. State, and UAB. The safety said he plans to visit Louisiana Tech, Georgia, Clemson, and UAB.

"Location isn't a big deal," said Hardnett. He wants to see Tech's campus in case he decides to attend college out of state.

We will check back with both Smith and Hardnett and every other recruit when the season gets going. Stay Tuned.
