"This is one of the best weeks of my career," said the 6'5 1/2" offensive lineman. "I want to make sure we win because we will never get it back."
Jackson said there is a good rivalry between the two Texarkana schools. "The talking can get a little strong," he added, "but nothing serrious."
Family ties also factor into the rivalry game. "I have friends at Arkansas High," mentioned Jackson. "My cousin, Bo Bigham, played quarterback there two years ago. His brother, Dylan, played wide receiver for them last year." Bo Bigham plays baseball for the University of Arkansas.
Texas High is 1-1 so far on the season. "We had a tough first week," said Jackson. "We were able to work hard in practice and put together a good game last week. Texas High beat Lake Hamilton 33-13. "We are a young team," added the Louisiana Tech commit. "That first game was a first for a lot of us."
Scout.com will have video of Jackson up soon from his first games of the season. He said the University of Kansas is also calling for film. Jackson said he is still in contact with Louisiana Tech. "I talked to Coach Perot right before Kansas called," he said.
