Tim Molton Transfers to Louisiana Tech

Tim Molton becomes the third player to transfer to Louisiana Tech from an SEC school this year.

Louisiana Tech took another step to add speed to the offense this week.

From LATechSports.com: Louisiana Tech head football coach Derek Dooley announced Tuesday that former LSU wide receiver Tim Molton has transferred to LA Tech, enrolled in classes and has joined the football team.

Molton, a native of Montz, La., joins the LA Tech program after spending one year at LSU. Molton redshirted the 2008 season for the Tigers. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Molton is required to sit out the 2009 season but will be eligible to play for three seasons beginning in 2010.

Tech did not release any statements from Molton or Coach Dooley.

Molton was ranked as the #99 wide reciver for the 2008 class by Scout.com. Prior to his junior year, he measured 6-2.5 at the San Antonio combine. At that time, he ran a 4.53 in the 40 yard dash. Molton, along with Tennessee transfer Ahmad Paige, should add some serious speed to the Bulldog receiving corp.

Molton was a high school teammate of current Dawgs Josh Victorian, Rufus Porter, and Bobby Gorman at Destrehan. Destrehan was 15-0 and won the 5A State Championship in 2007.
