Ashton Duhe Ready for Big Game

Destrehan faces Edna Karr tonight. A key matchup will be tackle Ashton Duhe going up against defensive end Dwayne Michell.

Dwayne Mitchell is a linebacker/defensive end for Edna Karr. He is committed to the University of Minnesota. Ashton Duhe said he is ready for the test. "He brings a lot of speed off the edge," he said.

While Edna Karr boasts Mitchell and defensive tackle Harold Legania on their defensive line, Destrehan will count on Calvin Ursin to put pressure on Karr quarterback Munchie Legaux.

Duhe has been helping out on the defensive side of the ball for Destrehan in addition to starting at offensive tackle. "I've been splitting time with a sophomore at nose guard," he explained. "That way Calvin can move outside and use his speed to pressure the quarterback."

On offense, Kyron King will help carry the load for Destrehan. "Kyron is our go to guy on offense," mentioned Duhe, who anchors a veteran line for the Wildcats. "We have four seniors and a junior on the offensive line."

The lone junior up front for Destrehan is junior guard Ethan Hutson. Hutson is 6'4" and plays next to Duhe on the line. His father, Mark Hutson, is the offensive line coach at Tulane.

Louisiana Tech walk on fullback Bobby Gorman was an All-State lineman for Destrehan last year. Duhe said he is hearing the most from the Bulldogs, along with Michigan, LSU, Clemson, and SMU. "I talk to Coach Joseph a lot," said Duhe. "I want to come up and see a game soon."

Duhe said Michigan plans to offer soon and he is getting new interest from USM and Memphis.
