South Arkansas Prospects Visit

Players from El Dorado, Junction City, and McGehee, AR all made their way down to Ruston, LA for the Louisiana Tech vs. Boise State game.

Grant Gill and T'Cambry Green were coming off of a dominating performance against Fordyce the night before. According to the Pine Bluff Commercial Appeal, Green had 23 rushes for 143 yards and three touchdowns as well as four catches for 113 yards, and Gill had six rushes for 91 yards and two touchdowns, completed 11 of 15 passes for 196 yards and had three interceptions on defense as the Owls secured the 8-4A Conference's No. 4 seed by beating the Redbugs 40-20.

Both players are being recruited by Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech. Gill is being recruited as a safety. He had previously attended summer camp at Louisiana Tech.

El Dorado suffered their first loss of the season this week against Pine Bluff. James Ford leads the Wildcat rushing attack while his brother, Jimmy Ford, is a standout linebacker. Jimmy had eight tackles and a fumble recovery against Pine Bluff. The Wildcats still managed to earn the first seed for the 6A playoffs.

Alan Turner and Byran Jones made their second trip to a Louisiana Tech for a game this year. Junction City lost only one game this year, a last minute thriller against Bearden. Bearden received a 1st seed and Junction City earned a second seed in the 2A playoffs.

Turner said he was being recruited by Baylor, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. Jones says he hears the most from Arkansas and Ole Miss. Jones is a highly coveted defensive tackle with offers from schools all over the southern part of the country.

The visitors made a short drive down to northern Louisiana and saw a good contest between Louisiana Tech and Boise State. The Bulldogs fell short, but played one of their better games of the year. The ten point margin was one of Boise's closest of the season, and the fifth ranked Broncos were lucky to make it out of Ruston after their third quarter collapse.
