Former Auburn Tiger Visits LA Tech

Ryan Williams has visits set up to Mississippi State and USF. The former Auburn cornerback was in Ruston last week for the Louisiana Tech vs. Boise State game.

Ryan Williams was the #32 cornerback in the country coming out of Rain H.S. in Mobile, AL. The 5'11" cornerback spent two years at Auburn and is now at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi.

Copiah-Lincoln finished 6-3, which was good enough for 3rd place in their district. "Our season is over," said Williams. "Only the top two teams in each district make the playoffs."

While Co-Lin didn't make the playoffs, they did have a strong defense. "We had four players (including Williams) on defense make first team All-State," added Williams. "We were number one in pass defense and number two in total defense."

Williams said he played against current Louisiana Tech Bulldog Solomon Randle in high school and was glad to see Randle and fellow Mobile native Adrien Cole at Tech. He talked about what he liked about his visit. "I met Karl Malone," explained Williams. "That was big. The players showed me a good time. I like the coaching staff. It would be a good situation."

Ryan said he has visits set up with USF and Mississippi State. He has offers from Tech, MSU, USF, USM, and Iowa State. He expects to make a decision in mid-December, just in time for signing day.
