Tillman Talks Tech

Louisiana Tech added a second signature in the early signing period for junior college players.

Josh Tillman visited Ole Miss two weeks ago. His cousin, Marcus is a senior for the Rebels. "They had another junior college player ahead of me," Josh explained. "I don't want to be anyone's second option."

Tillman had planned to visit other schools before making a decision. " I decided to get it over with," said Tillman. "Recruiting can be stressful. I want to be where I'm wanted and I'm excited to play for Louisiana Tech."

Josh said he still held offers from Ohio, ULL, ULM, Toledo, and Baylor. Louisiana Tech wants him to play both defensive end and defensive tackle.

Tillman played high school ball with Bo Tillman, his first cousin and younger brother of Marcus. Both Josh and Bo signed with Southern Miss out of high school. Bo ended up at Copiah-Lincoln College with Josh and the two were reunited on the football field.

Bo Tillman sat out the 2008 season and has one more year at Co-Lin. Could Bo join Josh for a third time at Louisiana Tech? "That's a strong possibility," added Josh. "We'll see."

Josh Tillman is a big addition to the Louisiana Tech roster. Tech returns just two defensive tackles and three defensive ends with significant experience. His versatility and quickness will give a big boost to Defensive Coordinator Tommy Spangler's defensive unit.

Josh Tillman will enroll at Tech for the spring quarter. He will be able to participate in spring football for the Bulldogs.
