Ketarus Stanton Commits

Ketarus Stanton was in Arizona on Sunday, watching the Cardinals play the Packers. His brother, Jermichael Finley, had six catches for 159 yards for Green Bay.

Ketarus Stanton is no stranger to big numbers. The sophomore running back finished the year with 205 carries for 1172 yards and 7 touchdowns for Cisco Junior College. The Diboll, TX native, who had over 2,000 yards his senior year, was third in the nation with 146.5 yards per game.

Stanton committed to Louisiana Tech out of high school, but he had a lot of interest this time around. "TCU said I would be a big factor in their offense," said Stanton. "So did Oklahoma State. I just didn't feel comfortable at either place."

Ketarus said he is up to 225 pounds and just over 6'1" tall. He was recruited out of high school by Eric Russell, who is now at texas tech. "I met coach Fontenette," explained Stanton. "The defensive backs coach also recruited me. They said I can come in and make a big difference, especially on 3rd down. They said I really fit in to their offense."

Jorvorskie Lane, Stanton's other famous brother, rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns on 9 carries against Louisiana Tech in 2006. Stanton was well aware that Louisiana Tech travels to Texas A&M in 2010. "I'm looking forward to it," he added.

Stanton is the 16th commitment for Louisiana Tech.
