Tech Stops Boise, Fresno Up Next

One quarter of the way through the WAC schedule, Louisiana Tech and Fresno State are both undefeated. The two teams meet in Ruston, LA on Thursday night.

Fresno State improved to 10-7 overall and 3-0 in WAC play after beating San Jose State 80-70. Sophomore Paul George scored a career high 29 points to lead the way for the Bulldogs.

Fresno State travels to Ruston, LA to take on Louisiana Tech in a battle of WAC unbeatens. Tech beat Boise State 79-64 behind 18 points and 12 rebounds from Magnum Rolle.

Kyle Gibson was once again the closer for Louisiana Tech Head Coach Kerry Rupp. The senior guard scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half to help the Bulldogs pull away from Boise State.

DeAndre Brown added 15 points on 7-11 shooting for Tech and Jamel Guyton scored 13. Guyton hit two three pointers in a key second half stretch to expand Tech's five point lead to eleven with less than nine minutes to play.

Gametime for Thursday is set for 8 p.m. Fresno State brings in a talented young team led by NBA prospects Paul George and freshman center Greg Smith. George leads Fresno in points at 17.9, rebounds at 7.7, and is second in assists at 3.3 per game. Smith is averaging 11.4 points and 6.7 rebounds. Senior Sylveter Seay chips in 15.9 points and 5.6 rebounds.

Louisiana Tech has won nine straight games and has exceeded the win total of last year's team.
