Enjoying 2nd Time Around

Alot of times when a player has to go the Juco route, it can either crush them or motivate them. Northwest is one of the Juco's in the country that puts several kids into D1 prgrams every year. This year a solid group of Sophomores will continue that tradition. Timmons, a 6ft 4 260lb DT/DE prospect, is already starting to gain attention early in the process.

"I received an offer from Troy already. I am also hearing alot from Delta State. But I am hearing alot from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss. Coming out of high school the recruiting process was kind of overwhelming at times but I am enjoying it this time around. Its very humbling that all these coaches think so highly of you, but I know I can help a team win and achieve their goals."

One of the things that alot of D1 coaches are looking for when they recruit a JC kid is how he did in the classroom. Timmons says he took care of business with one goal in mind.

"I worked hard because I wanted to be a December graduate. I will be graduating in December so I can go straight to my next school and participate in spring ball. Thats a big thing because I get a chance to learn the system. I want to try to have my decision made early, like the middle of the season at the latest so I know where I am going come January."

One school that grabbed Brandon's attention last recruiting season was Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns. Timmons has a friend on the Cajuns and hopes to be able to play ball with him one day soon.

"I have known Qyen Griffen since high school. We are really good friends. It would be nice to play with him instead of against him for a while. I really like the way the coaches are recruiting at ULL. It is for sure a school that I want to hear from. I want to go to a place where I can play early. I want to go somewhere where the coaches can help me move to the next level. I want to benefit from a young, energetic coaching staff that will make me bigger and stronger and faster."
