Webb chooses Wave

Miller-McCoy Academy 2015 defensive tackle Brian Webb reveals the reasons he committed to Tulane...

"I wasn't going to go to a big school like Mississippi State even though I had an offer," said Brian Webb, who committed to Tulane earlier this week.

"I visited UL twice and Southern Miss once, and I loved the last visit I took to Tulane last Thursday. I'd been to their practices before, which are at the Saints facility. In fact, that was when I got my first offer: at a practice."

Webb went to Tulane's campus last week.

"They showed a lot of love," he said. "I have a really good relationship with the d-line coach, as well as recruiter Dave Johnson. They actually all are cool - all the coaches.

"I talked with the head coach, Curtis Johnson, and he likes me as a player. He likes how I have good grades and said I can come in and start my first year."

The appeal of staying local rang true to Webb.

"Tulane is building even more talent with players from New Orleans," he said. "They've been doing a great job with that, and I think my commitment will result in more kids wanting to come here."

Webb says the Green Wave coaches want him to play the one and three spots at defensive tackle. He has the ability to play end, as well.
