Kevin Dotson grew up watching Ragin' Cajun football attending games with his parents, both former UL athletes. His mother ran track and his father Kelsey Dotson played football for (USL). But Kevin Dotson considered offers from Louisiana Tech and Tulane until today when he made his final decision to commit to Coach Hudspeth and the Ragin' Cajuns Football program.
"It came down to just feeling more comfortable with the staff and the fan base," Kevin said. "UL just felt more like home and the fan support they have was just much larger than those programs."
Dotson also had offers from Southern Miss, Louisiana-Monroe, Southern and McNeese State. But his relationship with Coach Hudspeth sealed the deal.
"My parents really didn't put any pressure on me, they left the decision up to me," Dotson stated. "My relationship with Coach Hudspeth also was a big part of my decision. He talked to all along and he encouraged me to work hard on the field and in the classroom."
Kevin Dotson shouldn't have any problems meeting NCAA entrance standards, as he reported scoring a 20 on his recent ACT test.
