Brendon Hayes and his Crusaders teammates are coming off a sounding 42-10 win of district rival Holy Cross last night at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. Hayes teammates RB Jared West (177 yards, 2TDs) and Bruce-Jordan Swilling (153 yards,2TDs) took care of business on the offensive side of the football. Hayes and his teammates on the defensive side of the football held an explosive Holy Cross offense led by highly recruited WR Michael Chigbu and RB Tre Turner to 344 total yards. Hayes talked about the defense's play last night.

"They went with the quick passing game to Chigbu and Darius Rodrigue most of the game, Brendon stated. "The defensive line really didn't get much time to get up the field before they would unload the football on the quick outs and curl routes. When they ran Tre Turner, they mostly ran away from me to the other side of the defense. It was a great win for us and now we will turn our focus to Archbishop Shaw next week."

With his teams success on the football field and school homework, Brendon Hayes hasn't had much time to take unofficial visits to college football games this fall. But, interest in the Crusader's senior linemen continues to heat up as of late.

"Besides the Ragin' Cajuns, UCF, Southern Miss and ULM continue to recruit me hard," Hayes mentioned. "I going on an official visit to UCF in November and check them out. Vanderbilt called me last week and said they need linemen, but I haven't set up any visit with them yet. ULM and Southern Miss keep asking me to come up for a game."

Brendon Hayes focus in the classroom has paid off as well his first semester of the 2014 school year.

"Yes sir, I finished the first semester with a 3.7 GPA," Brendon said. "I'm scheduled to take my ACT next week and that has been my focus right now. Not only do I want to finish my senior year strong on the football field, but I want to finish strong academically as well."

We will continue to follow Brendon Hayes through the rest of the season. For the latest news on Ragin' Cajuns recruiting, you can follow me on twitter here; https://twitter.com/LouisianaScout
