Coach Reed Stringer continues his streak of landing outstanding recruits from the Mississippi prep ranks when he acquired the commitment from Madison Central Prep 3-Star athlete Keenan Barnes. Barnes caught 55 passes for 914 yards and 13 touchdowns this season on his way to all-state honors and a selection to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game. Keenan told Scout.com in his last interview what he was looking for in a college football program.
"I want to play for a coach who's gong to push me and make me the best I can be," he said. "I'm not really worried about playing time or anything like that. If I work my butt off and give it my all, that's really all you can do. If you work like you're supposed to, you'll see the field."
Keenan Barnes visited Louisville on January 15th and Louisiana last weekend on January 23rd before making his final decision. Barnes told the Clarion Ledger why he committed to the Ragin' Cajuns.
"They wanted me – but it's not like they were recruiting me way, way harder than other schools," Barnes said. "I don't know, really. The coaches just seemed more genuine, I guess. They seemed like they really cared about me. It got me thinking."
