Alief Elsik High School (TX) TE Amorama Noel traveled down to Lafayette, Louisiana with several teammates to attend his first college junior day with the staff of the Ragin’ Cajuns football program. Noel came away impressed and spoke highly of the staff and the spring game atmosphere.
“That was my first junior day event and it was great,” Noel stated. “Everything was really nice and I had the chance to talk with Coach Munoz, my area recruiter and Coach Harbison the outside linebacker coach. I loved the facilities and the direction of the program. I met Coach Hudspeth for the first time and he said that he would like to see me in a Ragin’ Cajun uniform and that he liked my size.”
While Noel is considered a solid TE prospect, his future at the next level will more than likely be at the outside linebacker position in the 3-4 or odd man front. Amorama has a very athletic build with size and is willing to play where he is needed for his high school and at the next level.
“I play tight end at Alief Elsik because it is where my team needs me to play,” Amorama explained. “But interest in me from college programs has been on the defensive side of the football. That is the position the Ragin’ Cajuns are looking at me right now. Coach Harbison said they like my size and the way I play physically at tight end. I watched their defense and they play aggressive up front putting pressure on the quarterback. I have no problem playing on the defensive side of the football at the next level.”
In addition to Northwestern and Louisiana, Amorama Noel has received interest from Texas-San Antonio, Purdue, Houston, Tulsa, California and Arkansas. With spring football only a few weeks away, Noel expects a number of college coaches to stop by his school during the spring evaluation period. Amorama and his father will sit down and put a list of college camps together to attend this summer and he already has the Ragin’ Cajuns on his early list.
“My father and I are going to see sit down and look at camps,” Noel said. “He told me not to attend more than four or five camps this summer within driving distance. I’m definitely going to one of the ULL camps in June; they want me to come down. After that, I would like to go to a camp at UTSA, Houston and a few others. We haven’t made a final decision on the others right now. I might wait and see which schools come by our spring practices and look at some of those programs.”
Amorama Noel recently took his first SAT and is awaiting the scores. He told us that he plans on retaking the test in June regardless of the score on his first try.
