Cajuns Increase 2015-16 Signing Class To Four

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball coach Garry Brodhead announced on Friday the addition of junior college product Kendra Howard to the 2015-16 roster.

Howard, a 5-foot-8 guard, spent the past two seasons at San Jacinto Junior College where she was a two-time all-region selection and was the first player in school history to participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association All-Star Game.

"Kendra is an extremely athletic combo guard that can score in many different ways and has the ability to become a great defender at many different positions on the floor," Brodhead said. "She definitely fits our system, both offensively and defensively. She has been coached by one of the top junior college coaches in the country in Brenita Williams Jackson."

Howard averaged 15.5 points per game as a sophomore in 2014-15 and helped San Jac to a 20-game improvement in the win column after finishing 3-27 in 2013-14. Howard added four rebounds, two assists and three steals per contest as a sophomore and led San Jac to a 23-9 record and semifinal berth in the Region XIV Tournament.

Howard, a native of Dallas, Texas, is the fourth signee for Louisiana for the 2015-16 season joining early signees Breionne Cooper, Alex Weeks and Jordan Alexander.
