Local prep athlete Javonis Isaac camp in to the Ragin’ Cajuns Lafayette camp this past Saturday hoping to add an offer from the staff and adding his name to the list alongside teammate Kevin Moore of Acadiana Rams offer in the 2016 Class. Already holding offers from Colorado State, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Tulane and a few others, Javonis showed the Ragin’ Cajuns football staff that they needed to offer a rising prospect in their own backyard.
“I was happy to receive an offer from Coach Hudspeth and the Ragin’ Cajuns,” Isaac stated. “I’m just trying to keep up with my teammate Kevin Moore (Javonis mentioned with a laugh). Coach told me they were offering me at Tight-End and they liked what they saw in the camp. In their system, I can play Tight-End or more of the H-back position as well. They have both types of athletes in their system.”
Javonis Isaac’s familiarity with the Ragin’ Cajuns football staff certainly helped him in deciding to attend one of the Ragin’ Cajuns football camps in Lafayette this summer.
“Yes, I know the staff pretty well,” said Javonis. “I’ve been to some football games there and have met some of the players. They won four straight bowl games and Coach Hudspeth is building a solid program right here in Lafayette. They are also building new facilities right now and other improvements are coming down the road. They want me to come back in for another camp this summer and work out some on the defensive side of the football.”
With the new offer on the table, what is next for Javonis Isaac this summer?
“Starting this week, we begin playing 7-on-7 football at STM on every Tuesday,” Isaac stated. “We will play other schools like STM, Westgate and New Iberia. I’m head to a Colorado State camp next week and after that camp we are going to attend one at Mississippi State. And I will come back for another camp at ULL this summer as well.”
