Former Dutchtown Star Transfers to Louisiana

Mississippi State and former Dutchtown wide receiver Shelby Christy (6'3,205) has received his release and will enroll at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Christy will have to sit out the 2015 season with the Ragin' Cajuns.

Shelby Christy's career at Mississippi State is officially over after he was granted his release and gain acceptance to the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. The former 3-Star WR out of Dutchtown High signed with Mississippi State in the 2013 Class and redshirted his freshmen season in Starkville. A torn anterior cruciate ligament sidelined the Louisiana native for the entire 2014 season.

Shelby Christy was named 5A All-State his senior year at Dutchtown after an outstanding senior season. He camped with the Ragin' Cajuns the summer of 2012 and held offers from Ole Miss, TCU, Mississippi State, Louisiana, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, Nebraska, Southern Miss and Northwestern.

Shelby Christy verified with the Cajun Redzone via text that he has gain acceptance to the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and will enroll in August.
