Booker Adds Size to Cajuns 2016 Class

East Feliciana HS (La) OL/DL Tra'Vontae Booker (6'4,310) committed Saturday afternoon to the Ragin' Cajuns football staff. Booker's commitment adds some size to the 2016 UL recruiting class on the defensive line.

East Feliciana HS (La) OL/DL Tra'Vonte Booker impressed the Ragin' Cajun's staff enough in camp that the big lineman was offered on the defensive side of the football. Booker was named a member of the District 6-2A All-District Offense squad after his junior season. A number of college programs consider Tra'Vontae Booker an offensive lineman, but the Ragin' Cajuns consider him a defensive lineman after summer camps.

"They offered me as a defensive tackle," Booker mentioned to the Cajun Redzone in a text. "I committed to ULL because they aren't just another football program with nice facilities, but made me feel right at home. The coaches and some of the players that I met treated me like a family member. Everyone I met at the camp just made me feel welcomed at their program."

Booker told the Cajun Redzone that he had offers from three other programs, but others have been staying in touch with him after camps.

"I had offers from Alcorn State, Grambling and Nicholls," said Tra'Vontae. "Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech and a few others are still following me right now."

Tra'Vontea Bookers commitment now gives the Ragin' Cajuns along with Jahaziel Lee two interior defensive linemen in the 2016 Class.
