The Ragin' Cajuns Baseball program is off to a fast start in putting together a very good 2016 recruiting class with another high profile commitment. Florida prep athlete Todd Lott a (6'4,220) pound outfielder out of Coast, Florida joined the list of commitments in the Ragin' Cajuns 2016 recruiting class. Perfect Game voted Lott as Florida’s #5 ranked outfielder in the 2016 class.
Coastal Prospect Coach Dan Corsi congratulated his player on his commitment to the Ragin' Cajuns program.
"Todd has been an outstanding player for us the past few years. He had a terrific summer as our #3 hitter on a highly competitive 17u team. He earned national attention at the Prestigious Perfect Game National Showcase in late July. Perfect Game voted the 6’4? 220 pounder as Florida’s #5 ranked outfielder in the 2016 class. Todd became a must have recruit for many DI schools after his goliath offensive performance at the Nations biggest event, the WWBA 17U National Championships. He led us with a .620 batting average during the week. He saved his best for LakePoint as many of the colleges migrated there. Not only did he hit a 395 ft. blast with eyes on him, he sealed the deal with a 3 hit game versus a Mississippi St. signee in the playoffs."
Todd Lott talked to the Cajun Redzone about his recruitment by Coach Jeremy Talbot and his decision to commitment to the Ragin' Cajuns.
"Coach Talbot talked to me for the first time earlier this summer while we were playing in the Atlanta Showcase," Lott stated. "Coach stayed on me afterwards and later after the Perfect Game National Showcase in July, I decided to commit to the Ragin' Cajuns because I felt their program was the best fit for me and Coach Robichaux is a great coach. Coach Talbot showed me a list of the all the players they've had drafted by Major League Baseball and Coach Robichaux told me after I committed that he was going to make sure I don't just develop as a baseball player, but also as a young man."
Todd Lott had some familiarity with the Ragin' Cajun's Baseball program having watched them on television in recent regionals.
"I knew some things about the program," Todd mentioned. "I had watched them in the super regionals against LSU this year and Ole Miss last season. I knew they've been national ranked the past few seasons and my coaches told me about what type of program Coach Robichaux ran. Coach Talbot was straight forward and Coach Robichaux is also a great man. My family is okay with me playing out of state and I plan to sign during the early signing period."
Todd Lott joins Oliver Campbell LHP (5’9,165) Neville High, Josh Aguilar L/R (5’10,210) Catcher Bishop Lynch, Dallas and Tremaine Spears R/R (5’11,190) OF Tioga High and Caleb Armstrong (6'0,180)INF/RHP Ouachita HS in the 2016 recruiting class.
