Louisiana's Ragin Cajun football program has two senior CB's on the roster this season. The Cajun football staff has its sights on set on a top Louisiana CB prospect from Hahnville High for 2009. The Cajun football staff will have to replace seniors Scooter Rogers and Justin Branden after this season. Amongst the prospects the Cajun staff is on, is Scouts #151 ranked CB Danzell Lockett of Hahnville HS in Boutte, La. Danzell spoke about the programs recruiting him and the Ragin Cajuns.

"The four programs showing the most interest in me right now are Ole Miss, ULL, Southern Miss and Southern Illinois, said Lockett." "My brother Kentrell is on scholarship at Ole Miss, so I'm very familiar with that program. I also receive letters and phone calls from ULM and Louisiana Tech, but they are not recruiting me as hard."

How do the Cajuns fit in with the other three programs that Lockett mentioned?

"Coach Rebowe is recruiting me for ULL and he told me that I would have a good chance of coming in and playing early next season, stated Lockett." "I had an opportunity to visit the campus with my parents my sophomore year, when we traveled up there to play Carencro in the playoffs. I liked the indoor practice facility, but I heard they have made other improvements."

The 5-11, 170-pound Lockett only attended two football camps this summer, how did he perform at those camps?

"I attended camps at Ole Miss and Southern Miss, and was named top DB prospect at the Ole Miss camp. Both staff pretty much told me the same things, just keep working on my technique and strength. I ran a 4.49 forty at the Ole Miss camp and a 4.45 at the Southern Miss camp. So I think I proved that I can compete with some of the top athletes that those programs are recruiting."

Lockett stated that he will take five official visits in the fall, before he makes his final decision. Danzell scored a 17 on his first ACT test and finished the 2008 year with a 2.8 GPA in his core.
