Marcus Wiltz is quietly putting together another fine year at running back for the Cecilia High Bulldogs. As Cecilia High charges towards another District 6-3A championship, the 5-9,180-pound athlete has totaled 622 yards rushing on 79 carries and 10 touchdowns. These were his season totals going into Last Friday nights game against Vinton High, in which Cecilia won 60-0. What is the latest on Marcus Wiltz after his visit to Cajun Field for the Arkansas State game?
How did he enjoy his visit and the atmosphere of the game?
"The visit was really good, Marcus said." "I enjoyed the game and the intensity of the crowd during the game. The game was exciting until the end."
You now have three programs that you are really looking hard at right now; UL, ULM and McNeese St. How would you rate the game experience at each school?
"The atmosphere at the UL game was probably the best, said Wiltz." "They had more people at the game and were just more intense from the standpoint of the crowd."
"The McNeese game was nice as well, the crowd was as large but they were pretty loud. I liked the visit to Lake Charles as well, Wiltz stated."
"The ULM game was nice, as I had the opportunity to go in the locker room with the team after the game. But the crowd wasn't nearly as intense as UL and McNeese State."
Which coaches are recruiting you from each staff and what are they saying to you right now?
"Coach Hudson is recruiting me for UL, Marcus said." "They told me I would have an opportunity to play early because Tyrell Fenroy is graduating this season and I like their offense because they run the ball."
"Coach Leger is recruiting me for McNeese, said Wiltz." "Their situation is similar; as their starting running back is a senior as well and I like the way their offense involves the backs."
"Coach Perkins is recruiting me at ULM right now, Marcus stated." "I like their offense too and they have told me I'm the number one back that they are recruiting right now."
Are their any other programs calling you that you might consider a visit?
"Yes, Texas A & M has been calling to me to come in on an unofficial visit, but they haven't offered, Wiltz said." "I don't know yet if I'm going to travel to College Station or not."
In any case, college football recruiters won't have to be concerned about Marcus Wiltz's academics, as he has already scored a 20 on the ACT and currently has a 3.0 GPA.
