Safety prospect Troy Godfrey of 4A power Eunice is part of a group of seniors that have been the main stay of the Bobcat defense. While Eunice has played it's way into a number one ranking in the polls, the 6-3, 190-pound senior is quietly putting together a very good senior season. Godfrey is part of a group of college prospects that are scheduled visit the Cajuns for homecoming this weekend. Godfrey spoke to the Cajun RedZone about his senior year and attending the game this coming weekend.
What is the difference in this years Eunice squad and the 2007 team?
"We really committed ourselves to workouts this summer, Troy said." "We have 21 seniors on this team and most of us have been playing together since middle school."
What has Coach Trosclair told you guys about preparing weekly for games?
"Coach has told us to stay focus and concentrate on one game at a time, Godfrey said." "We are not thinking about Bastrop high or the Dome right now, but our next opponent Washington Marion."
You have visited UL once this season against Kent State, are you coming in this weekend?
"Yes, I'm coming back in on an unofficial visit, Troy stated." "I enjoyed my first game against Kent State and I wanted to come back in to watch the Cajuns again. My girlfriend and several of my teammates are coming down with me to the game."
Where do the Cajuns stand with you on the list of programs that have interest in you?
"I really like the Cajuns right now, Godfrey said." "I haven't heard much from them lately, but I could see myself playing at Cajun Field."
What other visits have you scheduled this month?
"Southeastern Louisiana wanted me to come in for a game, but I couldn't make it that weekend, Troy stated." "They want to come down for another game, so I will make one of their home games."
Troy Godfrey recently took the ACT for the second time this year. Godfrey scored a 16 on his first try on the test.
