Fitzpatrick Nabs First Offer From Cajuns

Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns are looking for quality receivers to fill several scholarships in the 2009 recruiting class. The Cajuns dipped into the state of Texas to offer a talented TE/Slot receiver this past week.

Austin Fitzpatrick is a 6-3, 215-pound TE/Slot receiver for a high powered Friendswood High offense and the type of athlete the Cajun program is trying to build its future with. Fitzpatrick was called Thursday afternoon and was offered by Cajun assistant coach Daryl Mason. Austin came in on a visit the weekend of the FIU game and was waiting of the Cajun staff to get back to him.

"Coach Brown called me Thursday afternoon after 7th hour and told me that ULL was offering me, said Austin." "They offered me at the TE/Slot position, which is what I play in our offense."

Austin had tripped in for the Florida International game earlier this season with his father, how as his visit?

"I enjoyed the visit to ULL, said Fitzpatrick." "We were able to get a look at the facilities before the game and spoke to the coaches."
Fitzpatrick plays in the high powered Friendswood offense with several others prospects and has over 550-yards receiving, with 7 Td's on the season.

"Our quarterback Jacob Karam is a Texas Tech commitment and WR Andre Gautreaux is having a good season, Austin said." "We are a team that loves to play on artificial turf with our offense."

Austin took a trip up to Ruston this past weekend and plans on taking several more unofficial visits.

"I have several other unofficial visits set for the season, Fitzpatrick said." "I'm going to TCU, Rice and Arizona on visits over the next few weeks."

Austin Fitzpatrick will also be returning for an official visit in December, against Middle Tennessee.
