Fitzpatrick Sets Official Visit Date

Friendswood TE/Slot Austin Fitzpatrick has set three visits for January, and the Cajuns are on the short list.

Now that the football season is over for Austin Fitzpatrick, its time to set up official visits to potential college programs. Fitzpatrick senior season ended with a loss to nationally ranked Clear Lake in the 4A State semi-finals in late December. Austin Fitzpatrick finished the 2008 season with 53 catches for 843 yards and 10 touchdowns. Fitzpatrick's stellar season has garnered him several post season awards; All-District 23-4A First Team Offense, All Galveston County and Honorable Mention 4A All-State.

"Yes sir, I've set my visit date for ULL on January 17th, said Austin." "I have FAU set for January 9th and New Mexico later in the month."

This won't be Fitzpatrick's first visit down to Lafayette, but this time he will travel with one extra person.

"My mother will be making the visit with me, she couldn't come in with is on the other trips in, Fitzpatrick said." "She wants to tour the campus and take a hard look at the academics."

Fitzpatrick has enjoyed his trips down to Louisiana for game day.

"I've enjoyed traveling down and visiting on game day, Austin said." "I like the staff, the facilities and their plans for making improvements in the program."

Austin received a phone call during Friendswood's playoff run from coach Howard Schnellenberger of FAU.

"Coach Schnellenberger called and asked me to take a visit down to FAU, said Fitzpatrick." "My father Tony Fitzpatrick played at Miami under coach Schnellenberger when they won their first national championship. Bernie Kosar and my father were roommates in college.

Austin Fitzpatrick is officially 6'3" 215lbs., runs a 4.61 in the 40 and has an 1190 SAT score. He also benches 305lbs. and squats 450lbs.
