The Cajun Football staff is looking to finish the 2009 class by next weekend, have added three more commitments this weekend. The biggest name in this weekend could be Scout # 107 DT Brandon McCray from Merritt Island, Florida.
The 6-4, 285-pound McCray had an offer from Iowa State and interest from South Florida during the recruiting process. Brandon recently participated in the annualCentral Florida All-Star Game in Orlando and was named one of the top seven prospects to participate in the game.
The second commitment this weekend comes from Beaumont Ozen athlete Daniel Lemelle. The 6-3, 260-pound Lemelle is the Scout # 97 OG and the third offensive linemen commitment in the 2009 class. The Cajuns also have commitments from Ashton Tyler and Robert Robinson. Lemelle had interest from Houston, Georgia Tech, Louisiana and Lamar.
The last commitment this weekend came from TE/HB Ian Thompson from East Forsyth High, North Carolina. The 6-4, 215-pound Thompson hauled in 49 receptions for 723 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Eagles. Ian Thompson garnered First Team All-District and All Region honors after East Forsyth's run in the 4A state playoffs.
The Cajuns are still awaiting final decisions from Carroll High DE/TE Darius Dunaway and Itawamba Community College DL John Weber. More on this weekends commitments and other recruiting news this week.
