DeJean Holding Two Offers

Cameron DeJean is one of the top safety prospects in Louisiana's 2010 recruiting class. DeJean is now holding two offers after attending five football camps this summer.

Cameron DeJean has received early interest from Louisiana, Tulsa, Rice, Tulane, Texas A & M and Northwestern, but two programs have decided not to wait and made early scholarship offers this summer. Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns were the first to offer the "6-3", 202-pound athlete and Coach Toledo of Tulane offered this past week at the Green Wave prospect camp in Lafayette.

"I had a good camp and performed well in the individual drills," Cameron stated. "I was able to participate in the shuttle run and, had a 36" vertical on the stand and jump. I don't know what my times were in the forty, but I thought I ran well."

Obviously Cameron's performance was good enough to motivate Coach Toledo to offer, rather then waiting to look at game film.

"Coach Toledo told me he was offering me after the camp," said DeJean. "He said that I probably can play several positions for them in the defensive scheme that they run. He also told me that they are willing to wait on my decision and I don't have to give them an answer right now."

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns continue to be in hot pursuit of Cameron DeJean's services. The Cajuns were the first division I program to offer DeJean a scholarship early this year in the spring. Cameron ran a best 4.5 forty on June 7th during the Cajun prospect camp.

"That was the first camp I ran coming off my injury," DeJean. "I didn't realize I had run a 4.5 on the forty, but that's a good time. I thought my performance was good at the camp in the one-on-one and seven-on-seven drills."

The Cajun coaches made it clear they would like nothing more then to see Cameron DeJean in the vermilion and white.

"Coaches Bustle and Fouquier told me that they would really like to have me in the program," Cameron said. "They think I can come in and contribute early in the program at either the safety or weak side linebacker position. I'm going to focus on getting ready for football season and wait on making a decision right now, but it is nice to have offers from two Division I programs this early in the summer."

After Cameron DeJean's performances in the summer football camps, other offers are sure to follow this fall for his services.
