Cajuns Football Lands First Commitment

Louisiana's Football Staff has landed its first official commitment for the 2010 class. The 6-1,240-pound FB/H-Back anounced his decision Sunday afternoon.

Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns football program landed its first commitment to the 2010 class Sunday afternoon. Amari Williams 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, played tight end last season and caught 12 passes for 150 yards and a couple touchdowns. Williams was recuited at the FB/H-Back position by Coach Hurley Brown. Amari Williams has imrpoved his forty time of 4.9 at the Orlando combine, to a recent 4.7. Williams was a standout performer at the Scout Combine in Orlando back in late March.

"I like them a lot and wanted to go ahead and commit to Louisiana," said Williams. "I had offers from Iowa State, Middle Tennessee State, Toledo, Richmond and Louisiana. I like the program and Coach Hurley Brown was straight me with from the beginning."

Amari Williams went to the Scout Combine in Orlando back in late March and was one of the top tight ends at the event. He tested well for a player his size (6-2 and 240) and caught everything thrown his way.

"I've got good hands," Williams said. "I can catch anything that comes close to me. "I didn't run a good forty time because of a blister on my foot at the Combine. But I just ran a 4.7 at the Florida camp last week."

The Cajuns are close on several other athletes, more on these athletes during the week. Don't miss any news from the Cajun RedZone, the most up-to-date source for Cajun recruiting.
