Cajuns Like Parker At DB

Louisiana's Ragin'Cajun Football staff is looking for quality athletes on the defensive side of the ball. Port Allen's Leonard Parker is an impressive athlete that has caught the eyes of the Cajun staff this summer.

Leonard Parker is an impressive athlete that plays both sides of the ball at Port Allen High. Parker showed off his athletic skills at QB in the triple option last season, but also gave college recruiters a glimpse of his potential at DB. Parker flashed solid coverage skills at DB, finishing the 2008 season with 4 Ints. The 5-10, 180-pound athlete, with 4.6 speed is holding an offer from the Ragin' Cajuns and has several of division one programs following his workouts during the summer.

"The Cajuns offered me back in May," said Parker. "They were my first division one offer this summer, as well as Southeastern Louisiana and Nichols State. Coach Hudson told me they were offering and liked me on the defensive side of the ball.

Leonard Parker attended the Cajun Prospect camp in June, but has plans to return to campus on July 31st.

"I'm headed to the LSU camp on July 19th," Leonard stated. "After the LSU camp, I'm headed back down to Lafayette for another camp at UL on July 31st at the end of the month."

As the summer continues, interest from other programs has increased for Leonard Parker.

"I attended the Tulane camp last month and they have stayed in touch with me," Parker said. "Vanderbilt has stayed in contact with me as well over the past month. Several other state schools have shown interest and have recently spoken to me."

Parker's teammate Andre Hal has already committed to Vanderbilt was also offered by the Ragin' Cajuns.

Leonard Parker completed his junior year with a 3.0 GPA in his core. Parker has also scored a 23 on his first ACT test.
